  • Decorators have been using reproductions since the title of professional decorator has been around.  Most people would tell you the large wall clock is an important element to the look and feel of the room.  So it should be not surprise that antique wall clock reproductions are so popular.

If your decorating space requires a look that modern day clocks just do not provide, but the investment in a true antique clock is not within budget then a reproduction may be just the answer.  In addition to the savings in purchase price, your probably going to get a time piece that is more reliable and accurate.  Several even offer the accuracy of an atomic clock, with out having to rewind it daily or weekly depending on the type of clock.

Many large antique reproduction clocks can be purchase for less than $300.  Where the same original version could run several thousands of dollars.  With the purchase of an antique clock the initial cost of acquiring it is just the beginning.  In many cases unless you are purchasing it directly from a dealer who specializes in restoring antique time pieces it may require some restoration.  And finding a repair specialist for an older clock can be a challenge as well as very costly.  With the advantage of having a clock that is battery operated rather than spring or weight activated also saves the maintance that an older clock will usually require to keep it running.

Some collectors also find that a reproduction of a rare or hard to find piece is also a great alternative to the original due to the price or unavailability of the time piece in question.  As well as also saving the cost of restoration .  And unless you’re a collector or clock historian it is not likely that you would be able to tell the difference.

Clocks act as pieces of art in your home.  They can be the center piece to any rooms décor and the right clock can make all the difference.  Having to make that choice on price can take a rooms look in the wrong direction.  With an antique wall clock reproduction you can get the look you want.
